Garibaldi Lake.

The view of Black Tusk from the Taylor Meadows camp area. It looks deceptively close...

Black Tusk is the 2,200 meter tall remains of a volcano, where erosion of the softer rock of the surrounding cone of the volcano has left exposed the harder "plug" that used to be the shaft inside the volcano. You can climb to the very top, but it takes a lot more time (and energy!) than we had. I've been to the top once, and to as far as the "plug" 3 other times. The trail crosses under the path up on the plug and rocks tend to fall onto those below, which chased us away once. Running out of daylight ended the other expeditions.

The "Meadows" are still mostly trees, but there is a lot more visibilty compared to lower down. The trees end at about 1,800 meters, but we only reached 1,500.

Leaving Taylor Meadows, and approaching Garibaldi Lake.

We reach the lake water level alongside it's outflow creek. The blue colour is caused by all the glacial silt in the water.

The bridge is built high enough to avoid getting taken away by all the debris.
