Boats and Kayaks.
Very Canadian: red and white. Or maybe very Japanese: white and red!
Hmm... Looks like someone else is paddling a long thin kayak now too!
The yellow one is 11 ft long, 26.5 inches wide. This is 15 ft long, and only 22 inches wide.
That is pretty narrow for a kayak. But this is a scaled-down speedster build for smaller paddlers.
The white one is 18 ft long, and is also 22 inches wide, but the bottom shape has less volume. (translated: it's less stable!)
It's a nice sunny quiet evening.
A perfect chance to check ut the wrecks! This one is not having a good day.
She's beginning to get comfortble, and turning up the speed!
The seat still needs some adjusting, as does the foot pedals.
More and more confident!
Both the white and the red kayak are built to be fast, but also able to carry enough cargo for a camping weekend. Hmmmmmmmm.........
What was supposed to be a short run just out onto English Bay, became a longer run out to Stanley Park.
This ended up being a 7.5km paddle session, with an average speed of 5 kph. Her previous best average was only 3.5 kph. (my best average with the white kayak is 9 kph)
