Canada Day.
On to the the rest of False Creek! But first: some flowers...
And a pollenating wasp?
We could see a stage setup in Yaletown, so we walked around the seawall towards it.
And found another celebration by Science World!
The reflection of the sky in the new casino's copper tinted glass wall.
Taking a break: It's hard work keeping up with the camera guy...
And here's the Yaletown stage: and in case you can't see who's on stage, there's a giant tv screen beside it... which shows the stage, but not enlarged...
A perfect opportunity to get dressed up! "Flambouyant and fabulous" springs to mind. The woman in red is wearing a big butterfly wing thing on her back.
Time to head home, across the Granville Bridge.
This building is nearing completion...
The balcony Lewisia...
Next day, and it was a kayak day with Yuko and Yoko! Yuko is helping Yoko get into the blue kayak, my "beach kayak". I used my white "exercise machine" kayak.
This is Yoko's second time out on a kayak, and she did much better. The last time, she was quite concerned about falling into the water.
This time she was mostly just concerned about the little ferries and boat wakes. But, aren't we all...
Previous time she managed 3 km total, with a food break. This time it was 6 km, non-stop. More relaxed, and less stressed. Lots of cell phone pics...
Now they're racing back, to see who lost the most. ...at their weigh-in... I think Yuko won...
