Another year, another fireworks display!
Since the good viewing spots were filling fast, I stayed by the railing while Yuko found a warm washroom to thaw out in.
We were waiting since 10:30, and after about 60 minutes, the fireworks barge was put into position. Two tug boats kept it in place, and 3 police boats kept the peace.
Then the final countdown, and at midnight the fireworks began!
The boats with the blue lights are the patrol. There were 7(?) party boats watching from the other side.
...and here's my usual problem. Without a tripod, and no real room for one, this is a very common result...
But, I did get a few useable pictures...
There seemed to be a lot of pink this year.
The dying embers of a couple of big explosions!
Since I also had to constantly adjust the camer's shutter-time based on the intensity of the fireworks, I didn't get to see them all...
Towards the end of the ten minute show, the explosions kept getting bigger and brighter!
With this much going on all at once, the picture got a bit burnt out...
And the last of the last one: the falling embers of a very big blast!
