We went inside Canada Place to check out the Canadian Military's display. This is a forward communications vehicle.
The subtle recruiting poster: note that almost all the people in this picture (including the poster) are female...
While I was keeping a place in line for the jet fighter seats, Yuko and Yoko want to pick up the Howitzer shell: 40 lbs.
They didn't realize I was taking their picture, and afterwards were arguing as to who was the stronger, and most able to support the shell's full weight.
Yuko had been in the front seat on a prior year, so this time she volunteered to be the back seat driver!
I thought the back seat was communications or weapons controls, but there's actually a second set of flight controls.
Yoko was fascinated with the console.
So I took this picture for her. I presume this is an older, decommissioned set of flight controls.
Then all too soon, their seat time was cut short, but they did enjoy the experience.
Posing with the CF18, while 2 others were having their turn!
Back at the forward command communications vehicle, this soldier was giving anyone that wanted a test fit with her noise-cancelling headphones.
And they were operating, as both Yuko and Yoko remarked on how quiet it was to wear them.
