Depending on where in the glacier the ice came from, it was either full of sand...
Clear and blue tinted...
Or translucent, and partly blue. A brief break in the clouds helped improve this picture!
After getting used to the ice on the beach, we continued a short distance down the road. The glacier we had stopped at is now behind us, and still looks enormous!
We stopped at this site, mostly for lunch, and to get a look at this glacier too.
This is a smaller version of the previous setting.
But since we are close to the ice face, it has more drama!
I'm glad that I'm not walking up that hill!
There were tour boats here too, which got quite close to the glacier.
