A storm, and a visitor!

The day after the storm blew through: a walk along the beach. ...oh look...

Hmm, I suspect that this is not supposed to be in this location...

During the storm, the prior day, the waves were crashing into Stanley Park.

They were washing the seawall walk quite well!

This particular wave is towering 20 ft above the walkway, and was taken during the darker, stormier, moments...

Ok, back to the aftermath... Speaking of math, it is going to cost a lot to extract this stranded barge!

And it has company, there is a green hulled sailboat up on the beach as well.

As per standard form with these beached sailboats, this is not a prime example of upkeep and maintenance.

And the anchor chain is inadequate for a boat this size. The weight of the chain on the bottom helps dampen the impact of the swells.

Definately in its last days. (It's still there 2 weeks later)

The barge. They have a problem. The storm's large waves acted to push the barge further up the rocks. The storm was accompanied by a strong low-pressure weather front.

The low pressure storm surge was 60cm. And all this on occured during one of the highest tides of the monthly tide cycle. It won't be floated off the rocks.

It makes a great tourist attraction, and it's right across from where the Shakespeare Festival "Bard on the Beach" is held. "Shakes Beers Barge on the Beach"!
