Glacier Lagoon
Today we drive up the coast to check out the icebergs!
But not before taking a picture of the glacier behind Vic. Yuko picked up a warm parka in Vic, and is now trying it out!
...The ice and snow seem closer to the road on this side of Iceland ! We even had to drive through a blizzard on the way...
As we get closer to the lagoon, Vatnajukull, Iceland's largest glacier, is towering above the mountains like a wall of clouds!

The lagoon drains to the Atlantic, on the left. There is a good current (depending on tide levels) but the bigger ice blocks tend to get stuck on the shallow bottom.
The bigger bergy bits were tantalizingly close to shore. Hmm... How to get closer...
...I have an idea...
What good timing, one of the amphibious trucks was just arriving !
So with a splash, away we went !
There was even a kayak option !
