The Golden Circle: Gullfoss and Geysir
After Geysir, the original plans were to stop at a nearby nice hotsprings, and relax. It was closed for renovations, so we travelled a bit further.
This is Hvammsvik Hot Springs. No drop ins and no tour busses, it is small. It was still abt 1.5 hrs drive away, so we were able to book.
What we didn't know was that the kitchen would be closing soon, though the hot springs were still open for a few more hours.
We were encouraged to dine first if that was in our plans, so we did. To the left of this window is the walk-up wine service location!
Once again, here we are in the middle of nowhere, and the food was amazing ! That's Yuko's shrimp sandwich.
We stayed til closing, and as the last ones out, I was able to get a few pictures of the place.
This was the main pool, only abt 38 C, but close to the wine window!
This was a seperate hot pool, with access to the ocean, if you wanted...
And these were the true hot pools, where we spent all our time.
And then back to the car, and back to Reykjavik
