Getting there is half the fun!
The welcoming committee was there!
Left to right: Oom Janus's wife Anni and son Jos, Tante Trees (Oom Koos's wife), Dad's mom climbing the stairs, then Oom Koos, Tante Tini (Oom Cor's wife) and their kids...
That's dad's dad, with hat and cigar, standing between Oom Janus on the left, and, well, we don't know who the other one is...
Mom's dad in the crowd! That's Mom's mom bending forward out of the picture. The boy is Jos Min.
And here we are! Limmen has a new tourist attraction! According to mom:
All the people standing around us when we arrived in Limmen were mostly family and neighbours, The tall guy I already identified was Oom Gerard, next to Koos stood Oom Toon, Dad's younger brother.
In one of the other pictures is Oom Theo next to Oom Gerard
In front of mom's parents house. Mom, with Jim and John, are walking directly towards the house on Dusseldorperweg. The woman in the foreground is mom's aunt, her father's sister.
Directly behind mom is her mom, and the guy's head above her mom is Gerrard Sap (Tante Lia's husband). That's Tante Trees with the big purse, and beside her Oom Koos.
Oops, that's my back, and dad with Ken and Jim. On the left that's Tante Trees (with the big purse), and Oom Kos.
On the right, talking to mom, Doreen, and John is Tante Lia's husband (Gerrard Sap), and beside him is Tante Tini's husband (Teo Zonneveld).
Here is Mom's Dad, with John, Mom, and Doreen. Did we really bring the VW van along with us??? Wow, those carry on bags did hold a lot!
Food! Dining at my mother's parent's! All of us are there! Between Opa Krom, and Ken, is John Krom, mom's brother Pete's son. Food. Now everything is allright with the world again!
Here is Doreen and me on the far side of the table, with John, Jim, Ken, and John Krom in the foreground. Mom is holding Marion, and has switched sides for the picture.
So who is behind the camera? Probably Oom Wim, mom's (then) 17 year old brother, who was still living at home at that time. Notice mom and dad's wedding photo on the wall...
