So many new relatives!
It's amazing how a large family crew can work the fields... For free... Free? Hey! Where's my pay!?! And who is the "supervisor" on the left side, wearing the cowboy boots?
OK, now we know why dad was invited back to Holland: he hadn't finished doing his chores before he left! ...And, Hey! ...my grandfather IS a tulip farmer!
According to mom: You guys are on Oom Cor's land, doing some screening and sifting.
They didn't make us work too late, I mean it only gets dark around 10 pm, right?
According to mom: The girls are Doreen, with Tineke and Marian, the daughters of Oom Cor and Tante Tini
Hmm... Looks like me, holding a guinea pig. Or is it a short-eared rabbit? The cousins seem amused...
Mom adds: I think you are holding a guinea pig Don with Tineke, Nies and Marian watching. Nies is the only son of Oom Cor and he is named after Opa Huysmans, like you,
but Opa's full name is Dyonysius, Nies for short, but we gave you an English version of that.
Apparently, while the boys were out working the fields, the girls were tending to the domestic chores. ...or practicing, anyway!
Mom adds: That's Doreen with Anita and Nancy at the table. Anita and Nancy are the younger daughters of Oom Cor. He had 5 children.
According to mom: that's me and my competition, Nies, at my dad's parents place. ...Both Opa's name-sakes, we must have been competing...
