Back to Reykjavik
Having reached the south coast, we turned west, and headed towards the airport.
The view was scenic! The local towns here seemed like bedroom communities for people who worked in Reykjavik.
The red cinders left over from another volcano...
The community in the distance is Keflavik, beside the airport. The white mountain-top in the distance is the Snaefells glacier.
That's the glacier we gave up on seeing when the rain arrived on our second day in the rv. So now we can see it, when we're over 150 km away!
We got the rv dropped off after picking up another car, and then headed into Reykjavik to our next hotel. This restaurant was on the first floor.
Nice menu, too!
After dinner, we walked back down to the waterfront. On days like this in Iceland, everyone takes a holiday!
And has a street party!
This stylized viking longboat decorates the harbour. This is to remind the Icelandic men to work hard, travel, have adventures!
This stylized woman is in a nearby park. This is to remind the Icelandic women to work hard while the men are away! ...and to enjoy the quiet!
